Why i'm here

Star

Growing up, i was never one to discuss ambitions or goals.
I liked to live in the moment. However, i did have one silly little dream.
I loved the beach. I loved the beach so much that i would beg my family to travel there every summer. I wasn't the most persuasive,
but i was stubborn. After a couple years of pestering, my parents finally folded, and took me to Myrtos beach.
We stayed in a hotel nearby for a week. On the second day, i made a friend with a boy called Mike.

At twelve, i began to study environmental science. I wanted to study beaches. Obviously, we learnt about a lot more than simple beaches, and at first, it never interested me. As time went on, however, i started to enjoy the subject more and more. Particularly the formation of coastlines. I wanted to become a coastal manager. Pretty mundane wish for a twelve year old, but fuck, sue me. My father didn't like that. He wanted me to learn a trade, particularly plumbing. I didn't listen, and continued my studies. When i was fifteen, I won a competition for most accurately portraying the risks associated with Terminal Groyne Syndrome. At sixteen, i officially joined Alcides. The Introductory Training was difficult. I was buddied up with someone whos name i cannot say (You know who you are) whom constantly recited bible stories as motivation. I think i would think of the introductory training more highly if sixteen-year-old-me didn't have the story of Cain and Abel shoved down their throat every morning.
